Job summary
Randstad Education in the Sussex area is recruiting a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students with SEN across fifth to sixteenth years in specialist settings. This full-time role runs Monday to Friday, 08:30-16:00, during term time, with excellent pay reviews and ongoing training.
You will work in friendly, modern SEND environments, offering both 1:1 and small group support, helping students access the curriculum and progress academically and socially. DBS compliance is required.
Qualifications
- Ability to support learners with various SEN needs.
- Care, education or childcare experience is desirable.
- Personal or professional experience of SEN.
- Confident to support in groups and different subjects.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- GCSE Maths and English at pass grade.
Responsibilities
- Assist students during class and ensure they are on track.
- Liaise with class teacher to maintain smooth running of the class.
- Supervision of children during playtimes and lunch breaks.
- Enable learners to access the curriculum.
- Support learners' pastoral needs.
- Be an active part in shaping the learning environment.
- Provide 1:1 or small group support across activities.
- Engage students by linking activities to their interests.
