Job summary

Randstad Education is recruiting for a dedicated teaching assistant to provide specialist support in Sussex SEND schools. You will work with children aged 5 to 16 with complex SEN, helping them access the curriculum and thrive both academically and emotionally.

This full-time role runs Monday to Friday, 08:30-16:00 during term time. You will join a friendly, supportive team with excellent training, career progression, on-site facilities, and opportunities to gain funded qualifications.

Qualifications

• Experience with SEN settings is desirable.
• GCSE Maths & English at pass grade is required.
• Eligibility to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Assist students during class and ensure they remain on track.
• Liaise with class teacher for smooth class running.
• Supervision of children during playtimes and lunch breaks.
• Enable learners to access the curriculum.
• Support the pastoral needs of learners.
• Be active in creating a positive learning environment.
• Provide 1:1 or small group support throughout the day.
• Engage learners by linking activities to their interests.
