Job summary

Randstad Education in Horley is recruiting a Teaching Assistant for a full-time, term-time only role with 1:1 and small group support for students with SEN and complex needs. You will help build confidence, behaviour, and social skills in a specialist provision.

The role involves collaboration with teachers, safeguarding, and using EHC plans to set targets. Onsite parking, CPD, and a supportive team are available. Training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children.
• GCSE in Maths and English - pass grade
• Ability to motivate children.
• Clear and concise written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver programmes of 1:1 support in and out of class to develop social and friendship skills or to support the teacher in whole class subject delivery.
• Support and encourage the behaviour and emotional development of students.
• Liaise with teachers and other staff about the needs and progress of students.
• Promote the welfare and safeguarding of young people at all times.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary and supportive team with all staff across the school.
• Ensure that individual Education, Health and Care Plans are used to set specific targets for students.
• Guide and mentor students so that targeted, measurable and significant improvement is secured.
• Work in partnership with the SENCO to ensure regular high quality and frequent communication between the school and the home so that parents are involved and students' attitudes to learning is maximised.
