Job summary

Aspire People is recruiting an experienced SEN Teacher to work within a specialist provision supporting pupils with autism, anxiety-related needs and barriers to accessing traditional classroom learning. You will plan and deliver learning that builds confidence and encourages re-engagement with education.

Qualifications

• QTS required.
• Experience teaching pupils with autism and/or SEND.
• Strong understanding of emotionally based school avoidance and anxiety.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual needs.
• Support pupils with autism, anxiety and associated SEND.
• Develop strategies to improve engagement, attendance and participation.
• Create a safe and nurturing learning environment.
• Support pupils to achieve EHCP outcomes.
• Work closely with support staff, therapists and families.
• Promote independence, resilience and confidence.
• Monitor progress and maintain accurate assessment records.
