Job summary

Remedy Education is seeking a Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Barking Riverside. You will support Year 1 and Year 2 pupils, many with Autism and significant communication needs, in a busy SEND environment.

The role includes intimate personal care, behaviour and sensory support, and helping children access learning through structured play. You will work closely with teaching staff to provide consistent support.

Qualifications

• Strong practical experience supporting children with complex SEND.
• Experience working with pre-verbal or non-verbal pupils.
• Confident providing intimate and personal care.
• Comfortable supporting highly active children with significant needs.
• Patient, resilient, energetic and able to use initiative.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with Autism, complex SEND and communication needs.
• Work with pre-verbal children to develop communication and engagement.
• Provide intimate care and assist with personal routines.
