Nationwide is seeking a Specialist Officer in Payments to join the Systems Support team. You will provide day-to-day operational support for core payment systems (GPP and Swift) and contribute subject-matter expertise for industry testing and projects affecting the payments environment.

This fast-paced role requires excellent planning, strong attention to detail, and confidence talking to internal and external customers.

The Specialist Officer role within the Systems Support team provides the day-to-day operational systems support for the core Payments processing systems Global Pay Plus (GPP) and Swift alongside the provision of subject matter expert knowledge for mandatory Industry & Scheme testing and projects impacting the Payments operating environment. This is a fast-paced role that requires excellent planning skills but also the ability to be flexible should the need arise. You’ll need to be confident talking to internal and external customers and have a high attention to detail.

This is a 9-month secondment opportunity.

For this role, you'll be based at your nearest regional office or hub. We value time spent together to connect with colleagues for collaboration so there will be a regular requirement to attend our Glasgow site approximately once per quarter. If you are based at an office location, you'll be expected to meet our hybrid working requirement of at least two days a week, or 40% of your working time if part‑time, in the office. If you’re based at our Glasgow office, this will apply from 1 April 2027 and ahead of that there will be a need to regularly connect with colleagues for collaboration events.
