Job description

A place to create moments that matter

Salary: £33,130 per annum, pro rata (including regional uplift)
Location: Ballard Court, Camberley (100% onsite)

Permanent, part time, 17.5 hours per week minimum between 9am-5pm, Monday - Friday

Thousands of families across the country rely on us for a safe, affordable home. And as the housing crisis deepens, the work we do has never been more important.

It’s this belief - that everyone deserves a place to call home - that drives everything we do. Together, we find new ways to understand and champion our customers, support them and drive positive change.

For a career that means more and makes a meaningful impact on society, this is the place to be.

About the role

Always motivated to achieve brilliant standards of service, our Specialist Housing Partners (Independent Living Housing Officer) are a visible presence in their schemes, ensuring the effective management of tenancies.

This involves working closely with the allocations and lettings team to onboard new customers. Moving into a new scheme is an important life experience and your role will have a positive influence on our customer journey as you’ll be supporting customers to maintain their independence for as long as possible. You’ll play a key role in encouraging resident engagement throughout their tenure in the scheme by building a sense of community.

Sometimes things don’t always go to plan, so you’ll also support customers to manage their rent accounts including service charges (including taking cases to court as a last resort), manage anti-social behaviour utilising a multi-agency approach as required, resolve customer complaints effectively and use appropriate legal remedies to ensure tenancies are ended efficiently and in line with legal and regulatory requirements when necessary.

This is a role where you can make a real difference in helping our customers live independently for as long as possible. You’ll develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners and build strong community bonds to make moments that matter every day.

Salary

The Specialist Housing Partner (Independent Living Housing Officer) spot salary is £29,580 per annum, pro rata for applicants who fully meet the requirements of the post. Applicants, who do not meet all the requirements of the post, will start 5% or 10% below the spot salary.

Plus a regional uplift of £3,550 per annum, pro rata.

About you

You’ll need experience in delivering housing management services, along with a solid understanding of tenancy management. Ideally, you’ll have a CIH Level 3 Certificate in Housing or be willing to work towards obtaining it. You should have a proven track record in managing anti-social behaviour and a strong knowledge of rent collection processes and the legal frameworks around income recovery. With a passion for delivering a first-class customer experience, you’ll thrive on challenges and be focused on achieving positive outcomes for customers while maintaining accuracy and high performance.

Successful candidates will be subject to a DBS check.

A place to build a future

We have big ambitions. That means we need people who are driven to succeed and eager to grow. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to learn new skills, thrive in our collaborative environment and take your career in different directions. We also support your health and wellbeing with 28 days of holiday - plus the opportunity to purchase more - access to an online GP, gym discounts and a day to spend volunteering for a cause that matters to you.

If you require reasonable adjustments to any part of our recruitment process, please let us know we will ensure requirements are met.

Please don’t delay in submitting your application. Where roles are urgent or we receive a high volume of applications, we may interview and conclude the process prior to any closing date indicated.

If you have any queries about the role, please email us directly.

Please note candidates must have current eligibility to live and work in the UK, Accent do not currently hold a sponsorship license.

We are excited about our future and if you are too, we’d love to hear from you.

If you’re looking for a place you can make a positive difference to society, to our organisation and to your future, apply now.

You may also have experience in the following roles: Housing Officer, Tenancy Management Officer, Independent Living Coordinator, Sheltered Housing Officer, Housing Support Worker, Residential Services Officer, Community Housing Officer, Supported Housing Officer, Housing Management Assistant, Neighbourhood Housing Officer, etc.
