NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is offering a role for a Band 6 Community Children's Nurse, focusing on delivering high-quality care to children in an educational setting. The shift pattern for this post is 37 hours per week, pro rata, during term time.

We have an exciting opportunity within Specialist Children’s Services for a Band 6 Community Children’s Nurse at an Additional Support for Learning School. Under the direction of the Clinical Nurse Specialist / Team Lead, the post holder will be responsible for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care programmes for patients experiencing disability, developing the role of the Specialist Children’s Services Nurse across the disability pathway. The role involves providing accessible, high-quality, culturally sensitive, safe, patient-centered, and effective community services by working in partnership with children, young people, families, care providers, and other agencies.
Ideally, candidates will have experience working with children and young people aged 2-19 years with complex medical and social needs, caseload management skills, and the ability to prioritize and delegate appropriately. Experience in clinical interventions and assessment of care needs is desirable, especially as we deliver competency-based training to non-health staff. The role includes nurse-led assessments and immunizations for school-aged children.
Full induction and upskilling in clinical interventions will be provided. It is essential for this community post that the candidate holds a valid driving license.
