Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Lead Nurse to join our Children's Community Nursing Service. We have positions within our Inclusion Nursing team, providing vital nursing support for students with complex health, additional needs, or learning disabilities. The role is based within the Leeds Specialist Inclusive Learning Centres (SILCs) across the city.
We work Monday to Friday, with various hours from 08:00 to 16:00, providing all-year-round cover excluding bank holidays. We support applications for flexible working where possible.
Candidates must be a registered nurse with prior clinical experience working with children or adults with complex health or additional needs. A full training package with preceptorship is provided until you are competent and confident to work independently.
The role involves some travel; access to transport with business insurance is required.

You will be responsible for providing clinical care within the SILC, managing a caseload of children. This includes planning, assessing, implementing, and evaluating care to enable children to safely access education. Our team aims to promote opportunities for children and young people to participate fully in school life, with support for training.
The role includes coordinating shifts, teaching, and supporting other team members.
Candidates should be problem solvers, innovative, possess excellent communication skills, be able to work autonomously, and prioritize, organize, and delegate tasks effectively.
We operate a cross-service working model, offering opportunities to collaborate with other clinical teams, and you may be asked to support these teams on occasion.
