Job summary

Agincare Group is seeking a Home Care Assistant to support a gentleman with autism in his own home. You will build a trusting relationship, assist with daily living, and promote independence and wellbeing while coordinating with his family and care team.

Qualifications

  • Right to work in the UK with at least 12 months remaining is required.
  • No formal care qualifications are required; training will be provided.

We are looking for a compassionate, patient, and reliable Care and Support Assistant to provide dedicated support to one gentleman with autism. This role is primarily focused on building a trusting relationship with him, understanding his individual needs, and helping him to live a fulfilling, independent life.
A key aspect of this role is developing and maintaining a positive, professional relationship with his family. You will liaise regularly with family members, communicating effectively, sharing relevant updates, and working collaboratively to ensure a consistent, person-centred approach that meets his needs and promotes his wellbeing.
While your main responsibility will be supporting this individual, you will also be expected to provide care and support to other service users within the service as required. This includes promoting independence, assisting with daily living activities, supporting social and community engagement, and ensuring the wellbeing, dignity, and individual choices of everyone you support.

The Role of a Home Carer:
  • Supporting people with their daily routines, including household tasks and personal care
  • Helping with shopping, preparing nutritious meals, and making a comforting cup of tea
  • Providing companionship, a listening ear, and friendly conversation
  • Helping with medication
