We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Nurse to join our Special School Nursing Service within the Children’s Integrated Complex Care Clinical Business Unit in Central London, supporting two special schools in Westminster and Hammersmith & Fulham.
As a Special School Nursing Team Lead and SEND Lead, you will manage a team of Band 6 nurses and Band 3-4 support workers, delivering high-quality care to children aged 4-19 with learning disabilities, complex health needs, and special educational needs (SEND). This role involves collaboration with education providers and professionals to ensure students reach their full potential.
You’ll provide clinical leadership, champion SEND initiatives, oversee nursing operations, resource management, and care quality. Working alongside the Children’s Community Nursing Team Leads and the Specialist Nursing Service Manager, you will contribute to the strategic oversight of the Trust’s SEND strategy in partnership with education and social care teams. Additional responsibilities include maintaining clinical records, contributing to audits, and upholding standards for key performance indicators.
Working Hours
28.5 hours per week, term-time only, with flexible scheduling Monday to Friday.
Who We're Looking For
You are passionate about exceptional care for children with SEND, skilled in team-based and autonomous work, and committed to service improvement.
Responsibilities include providing clinical leadership to the Special School Nursing Teams in Westminster and Hammersmith and Fulham, including line management, developing policies, maintaining accurate records, participating in meetings, ensuring effective communication with families, and collaborating with relevant services and MDTs involved with children and young people with SEND.
We also value your ability to ensure compliance with policies, protocols, and guidelines, and to participate in network and special interest groups.
