Job summary

Teaching Personnel in Basingstoke is seeking a compassionate Teaching Assistant to support children and young people with additional needs in a specialist SEN provision from September.

You will work closely with teachers and therapists to provide one-to-one and small-group support, adapt activities, encourage communication and independence, and help pupils progress toward their EHCP outcomes in a nurturing, inclusive setting.

Qualifications

• Previous SEN experience is welcomed but not essential.
• Experience in schools or education settings preferred.
• Ability to support pupils toward EHCP outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers to deliver engaging, inclusive lessons.
• Provide one-to-one and small group support tailored to needs.
• Adapt activities and resources to support pupil engagement.
• Encourage communication, independence and social development.
• Support pupils with emotional regulation, routines and transitions.
• Assist pupils in progressing toward EHCP outcomes where appropriate.
• Build positive relationships and work with multidisciplinary teams.
