Job summary

Engage Partners Limited is seeking a Special Needs Teaching Assistant to support students aged 4–16 with varied needs in Hounslow. The role involves assisting in classrooms, supporting individual and small-group activities, and helping with personal care as required.

Responsibilities

• Classroom Support – Work closely with the class teacher to deliver personalised learning programmes that meet individual needs.
• One-to-One or Small Group Support – Provide targeted assistance to help students engage and progress.
• Personal Care – Offer respectful and sensitive support with feeding, toileting, and hygiene where required.
• Behavioural Support – Implement positive behaviour management strategies to help students develop emotional resilience and self-regulation.
• Communication Support – Use tools such as Makaton, PECS, or AAC devices to help students express themselves and interact with others.
• Resource Preparation – Adapt and create engaging learning materials and use specialist equipment where appropriate.
• Progress Monitoring – Record and report on student progress, contributing to IEPs and working with teachers to adjust strategies.
• Therapy Assistance – Support therapeutic programmes under professional guidance.
• School Activities – Ensure safety and engagement during school trips, therapy sessions, and extracurricular activities.
• Team Collaboration – Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to create a holistic and inclusive learning environment.
