Job summary

TeacherActive in the United Kingdom is recruiting a compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of additional needs in welcoming schools and specialist settings. You'll work with teachers to help learners access lessons, build confidence, and reach their potential.

We offer flexible placements—long-term, short-term and day-to-day—plus free CPD and SEND training, ongoing support from a dedicated education consultant, and competitive rates of pay.

Qualifications

• Experience with children or young people with SEND is desirable.
• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• Relevant qualifications are beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND.
• Assist with implementing IEPs and support strategies.
• Encourage pupils' independence, confidence, and social development.
• Support children with a range of needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and other learning difficulties.
• Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals to support pupil progress.

Are you a compassionate, patient, and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people? TeacherActive is recruiting enthusiastic SEND TAs to support pupils with a range of additional needs in welcoming schools and specialist settings.

The Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you'll provide tailored support to pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them to access learning, build confidence, and reach their full potential. You'll work closely with teachers and other professionals to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

• Assist with implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and support strategies.
• Encourage pupils' independence, confidence, and social development.

• Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals to support pupil progress.
