Reeson Education is seeking an experienced Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Southfields. The role supports Reception-aged children with SEN, offering 1:1 and small-group assistance to help access learning and develop communication, confidence and independence.

The ideal candidate will have prior SEN experience, with EYFS/Reception exposure preferred, and a patient, calm, nurturing approach.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN is essential.
  • Experience within EYFS, Reception or an Early Years setting would be highly desirable.
  • Confident supporting children with a variety of additional needs.
  • Patient, calm and nurturing in their approach.
  • Comfortable providing individualised support according to each child's needs.
  • Reliable and able to commit to a full-time position from October.
  • Passionate about helping children with SEND make progress.

Responsibilities

  • Support behaviour and emotional regulation where required.
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and other support staff.
  • Help create a safe, nurturing and inclusive Early Years environment.
  • Assist with children's personal care where required.

Job description

A welcoming mainstream primary school in Southfields are looking for an experienced and committed Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join their Reception team on a full-time basis from October.

The successful Special Needs Teaching Assistant will work with Reception-aged children with a variety of special educational needs, providing both individual and small-group support to help pupils access learning, develop their communication and build confidence and independence.

Previous experience supporting children with special educational needs is essential for this position.
