Reeson Education is seeking an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant for an outstanding SEN school in North London. The role is full-time and long-term, based in Barnet, with immediate start and a competitive daily rate.

You will support students with learning difficulties, ASD, or complex needs, in one-to-one or small-group settings, and assist with lesson planning and delivery. The school emphasises safeguarding and provides supportive leadership and resources.

  • Being aware of safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure student safety and wellbeing.
  • Willingness to undertake personal care when required.

A teaching assistant is needed for an outstanding special educational needs (SEN) school in North London for primary school students.

As a teaching assistant, you will be working closely with students who require additional support, either one-on-one or in small groups.

Willingness to do personal care is preferred.

This school is easily accessible from around London, with great transport links.

Your responsibilities as a teaching assistant may include:
  • Working with and supporting students with learning difficulties and complex needs, which may include students with autistic spectrum disorder (ASD), or challenging behaviour.
  • Providing academic support, either one‑on‑one or in a small group.
  • Promoting a positive and inclusive classroom culture and providing emotional support when needed.
  • Implementing behaviour management strategies to maintain a positive and safe learning environment.
  • Using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage focus and self-control.
  • Assisting with lesson planning and delivery.
  • Being aware of safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well‑being of students.
To be a teaching assistant you will need:
  • The right to work in the UK.
  • A clear and up-to-date DBS.
  • Experience working as a teaching assistant.
  • A patient, kind attitude with a passion to support SEN students and a keen interest in child development.
