Job summary

SRG Recruitment is seeking experienced LGV/HGV Class 2 drivers for Southampton-area multi-drop work. You will deliver palletised goods locally, load/unload, secure loads and complete delivery paperwork, with customer-facing duties and route planning.

Role involves daily vehicle checks, adherence to Drivers' Hours/WTD, and flexible full-time/part-time opportunities. Ongoing regular work with potential temp-to-perm options. Southampton familiarity is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Valid Category C / Class 2 licence for at least 1 year.
• Previous commercial HGV Class 2 driving experience.
• Multi-drop pallet experience essential.
• Valid CPC / DQC.
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
• No DD / DR / DG / IN endorsement codes.
• Good knowledge of Drivers' Hours and WTD.
• Good knowledge of Southampton and surrounding areas.
• Reliable, flexible and hardworking attitude.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a transport team.

Responsibilities

• Class 2 / HGV2 / LGV2 driving.
• 7.5 Tonne driving.
• Multi-drop pallet deliveries.
• Local and regional deliveries around Southampton.
• Electric and manual pump truck use.
• Loading and unloading.
• Securing and strapping loads.
• Delivery paperwork and PODs.
• Customer-facing deliveries.
• Following planned delivery routes and schedules.
• Daily vehicle checks and reporting defects.
• Drivers' Hours and WTD compliance.
