Job summary

Blue Arrow is hiring a Sous Chef for a busy Thetford kitchen, offering a permanent full-time role with a rotating shift pattern and alternate weekends. Starting salary is £30,000 plus tips, with a comprehensive staff benefits package including pension, wellbeing scheme, and paid holiday.

You will supervise the kitchen team daily, assist with training, manage ingredients and daily menus, and ensure health and food safety records.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Sous Chef in a similar venue.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Passionate about food.
• Enthusiastic attitude and willingness to take operation to the next level.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the kitchen team on a day-to-day basis.
• Assist in training and development of the catering staff.
• Ensure sufficient supplies to maintain the daily menu.
• Organise cooking and preparation to maintain the daily menu.
• Attend weekly meetings with the Catering Manager.
• Ensure team complete job lists and meet expectations.
• Keep staff productive and fully occupied.
• Ensure daily breaks are taken.
• Maintain wastage and temperature records.
• Provide the catering manager with monthly reports.
• Follow health and safety and food safety procedures.
• Undertake other reasonable tasks as requested.
