Job summary

wagamama in the United Kingdom is hiring a sous chef to lead shifts and manage the kitchen team in Sheffield. You will ensure every dish is made to order, maintain high standards, and support the management team with daily operations.

You will train and develop staff, manage the line, and monitor food safety, stock, and labour costs while driving continuous improvement and a positive, energetic kitchen culture.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a busy kitchen and managing the line.
• Strong understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices.
• Experience controlling GP, stock and labour costs.
• Able to train and develop others to reach high standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead the kitchen with pride, managing shifts and ensuring dishes are fresh and on-brand.
• Collaborate with management to run a vibrant, high-performing kitchen.
• Coach and develop the team, fostering pride and accountability.
• Maintain food safety, stock control, and cost awareness across the kitchen.
