Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Sous Chef to support the Head Chef at Hinckley House Care Home in Leicester. You will lead a culinary team to deliver nutritionally balanced, high-quality meals within budget, including modified diets per IDDSI guidelines.

The role requires a relevant catering qualification, at least one year of catering experience, and a compassionate, adaptable approach. DBS check and right to work in the UK are part of the process.

Qualifications

• Hold a relevant catering qualification City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ or equivalent.
• Have a minimum of 1 year of catering experience.
• Demonstrate compassion and commitment to delivering high-quality culinary services to residents.
• Be adaptable and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Prepare nutritionally balanced, high-quality meals that comply with IDDSI and budgets.
• Supervise culinary staff and provide instruction to junior staff.
• Ensure safe food handling and maintain hygiene standards in the kitchen.
