Job summary

Marston’s is seeking a dedicated Sous Chef to join our pub kitchen. You’ll be alongside a passionate team, stepping in as second in command to the Head Chef and driving high standards across the service line.

Qualifications

• Experience as sous chef or commis chef, evidenced in past roles.
• Ability to manage kitchen operations and cover Head Chef when needed.
• Proven track record of running the line during service.
• Motivates and develops kitchen staff to improve skills.
• Passionate about maintaining the highest standards of food and service.

Responsibilities

• Be right in the action in our kitchen, second in command to the Head Chef, stepping up when they’re off shift.
• Assist Head Chef in managing all kitchen aspects and ensuring consistent service.
• Accountable for running the line during service and ensuring quality output.
• Oversee, organise, and develop the kitchen team to raise performance.
• Ensure the team maintains the highest standards of food and service.

As Sous Chef you’ll:

Be right in the action in our kitchen, second in command to our Head Chef – stepping up and covering for them when they’re not on shift.

• Offer previous branded experience in a similar role or as an experienced Commis Chef
• Assist our Head Chef in managing all aspects of the kitchen
• Accountable for running the line during service
• Oversee, organise, and encouragethe kitchen team - helping to develop their skills
• Be passionateabout maintaining the highest standards of food and service
