Job description

Searcys is seeking a Sous Chef to play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of events during the busy season at Church House, accommodating events for up to 700 people.

About Church House

Located in Westminster, Church House is a Grade II listed, multi-purpose event venue spread across three floors, featuring 19 meeting and conference spaces. Established in 1888 and affiliated with The Corporation of Church House charity, the venue boasts a rich heritage with notable links to royalty and parliament.

Working Hours and Salary

Majority Monday - Friday, with occasional weekends. Salary: £21.50 per hour.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Oversee food preparation, planning, and team supervision.
  2. Collaborate with the Head Chef on daily kitchen management and menu planning.
  3. Train the brigade in menu, equipment, and procedures.
  4. Work with the Head Chef to meet sales and gross profit margins.
  5. Manage purchasing in line with company policies.
  6. Oversee stock control across all sections.
  7. Ensure compliance with Health and Safety and Food Safety standards.
  8. Demonstrate passion for seasonal food and menu design.
  9. Lead, motivate, and develop team members.
  10. Possess experience in contract catering and/or event production.
