Job summary

Warner Hotels Group in Herefordshire is seeking a talented Sous Chef to join the culinary team at Holme Lacy, a Grade I listed hotel with a theatre, spa, two restaurants and a coffee shop.

You will oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, supervise and train junior chefs, ensure food safety, monitor inventory and costs, and support the Head Chef in delivering outstanding guest experiences. Live-in optional; generous benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Experience in branded hospitality environments.
• Experience managing orders, stocks and forecast against occupancy.
• Strong financial acumen and ability to manage costs.

Responsibilities

Salary: £32,000 - £36,000

What will I be doing?

• Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, ensuring all stations are properly organised and prepared for service.
• Supervising and training junior chefs, promoting a positive and collaborative working environment.
• Ensuring food safety standards are always adhered to, including proper storage, handling, and cooking techniques.
• Monitoring inventory levels and managing food costs to meet financial targets.
• Supporting the Head Chef in maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and responding to guest feedback

• A Sous Chef who understands the importance of working in a branded environment.
• You will have the ability to create a culture of support and actively encourages teamwork.
• Willingness to challenge if standards aren’t meeting required levels.
• A chef with a passion for great food and service.

What skills do I need?

• Understands the important of working with a branded menu.
• Experience of managing orders, food stocks and forecast against occupancy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and can adapt quickly to changing requirements.
• Good financial knowledge with the ability to manage costs in line with the department’s budget.
