Job summary

The Ram Agency, on behalf of Young’s, is seeking an Agency Sous Chef to join a busy kitchen. You will be employed by Young’s and have the freedom to view shifts and build your own rota, while enjoying company benefits and support from a dedicated General Manager.

You will lead a kitchen team, champion high standards of food quality, and help design menus with the Head Chef. This role offers development opportunities through Apprenticeship Schemes and a share in success.

Qualifications

• Experience championing excellent service through quality food.
• Ability to lead and develop a kitchen team.
• Hands-on chef with strong communication skills.
• Responsible for rota management, training and health & safety execution.

Responsibilities

• Manage kitchen staff rota, training and all health and safety practices.
• Collaborate with Head Chef to design and deliver new dishes and daily specials.
• Drive GP and labour controls through proactive planning and organisation.
• Lead by example to deliver high standards of food and service.

We have shifts available daily, across our estate of over 270 pubs. What we look for in a Sous Chef:

We are looking for an existing Sous Chef or Senior CDP looking for their next step, who considers themselves a natural leader with a passion and flare for producing quality fresh food in an environment that makes people feel welcome. As the successful Sous Chef, you will:

• Have experience championing excellent service through quality food
• Demonstrate a passion for leading and developing a team
• Be an active hands-on Chef with excellent communication skills
• Be responsible and able to manage the kitchen staff rota, training and all health and safety effectively always
• Working alongside your Head Chef, you will be able to demonstrate your creativity and ability by helping to design and deliver new dishes for our menus and daily specials
• Demonstrate great planning and organisational skills, necessary to maintain effective controls regarding both GP and labour
• Have a proactive approach to driving sales and delivering growth, through engagement with both kitchen and front-of-house teams
