Job summary

Young's is seeking an Agency Sous Chef for its Ram Agency, with shifts across our pubs. You’ll be employed by Young’s, build your own rota, and access development programmes and chef training while earning from £15.50 per hour.

Expect holidays accrued and 20% discount across Young’s pubs, plus a share save and a company pension scheme. We are looking for an existing Sous Chef or Senior CDP who can lead a kitchen, manage staff rosters, train the team, and collaborate with the Head Chef to design

Qualifications

• Experience as Sous Chef or Senior CDP, leadership ability, and passion for quality fresh food.
• Able to lead and develop a team while maintaining high service standards.
• Hands-on chef with strong communication skills and reliable health & safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the kitchen team; oversee operations with strong leadership.
• Manage kitchen staff rota, training and health & safety compliance.
• Collaborate with Head Chef to design/deliver new dishes and daily specials.
• Strategically plan to maintain GP and labour controls; drive sales through kitchen/front-of-house collaboration.

The Ram Agency is Young’s very own internal agency, giving you the power to pick your working hours! You’ll be looked after by our excellent General Manager, Monse, and simply hop online to view shifts and build your rota to suit your lifestyle. We have shifts available daily, across our estate of over 270 pubs. What we look for in a Sous Chef:

We are looking for an existing Sous Chef or Senior CDP looking for their next step, who considers themselves a natural leader with a passion and flare for producing quality fresh food in an environment that makes people feel welcome. As the successful Sous Chef, you will:

• Have experience championing excellent service through quality food
• Demonstrate a passion for leading and developing a team
• Be an active hands-on Chef with excellent communication skills
• Be responsible and able to manage the kitchen staff rota, training and all health and safety effectively always
• Working alongside your Head Chef, you will be able to demonstrate your creativity and ability by helping to design and deliver new dishes for our menus and daily specials
• Demonstrate great planning and organisational skills, necessary to maintain effective controls regarding both GP and labour
• Have a proactive approach to driving sales and delivering growth, through engagement with both kitchen and front-of-house teams
