Job summary

Young's is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to lead a busy kitchen and deliver high-quality, fresh dishes across multiple pub venues. You will be hands-on, manage the rota, train staff, and ensure health and safety standards are always met while collaborating with the Head Chef on new menu ideas.

You’ll work with the Ram Agency to view shifts and build your rota, with the flexibility to tailor shifts to your lifestyle.

Qualifications

• Experience championing excellent service through quality food.
• Passion for leading and developing a team.
• Hands-on Chef with excellent communication skills.
• Able to manage the kitchen staff rota, training and health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the kitchen team to deliver quality, fresh dishes.
• Design and deliver new dishes for menus and daily specials.
• Plan and organise to maintain GP and labour controls.
• Drive sales and growth through engagement with kitchen and front-of-house teams.

You’ll be looked after by our excellent General Manager, Monse, and simply hop online to view shifts and build your rota to suit your lifestyle. We have shifts available daily, across our estate of over 270 pubs. What we look for in a Sous Chef:

We are looking for an existing Sous Chef or Senior CDP looking for their next step, who considers themselves a natural leader with a passion and flare for producing quality fresh food in an environment that makes people feel welcome. As the successful Sous Chef, you will:

• Have experience championing excellent service through quality food
• Demonstrate a passion for leading and developing a team
• Be an active hands-on Chef with excellent communication skills
• Be responsible and able to manage the kitchen staff rota, training and all health and safety effectively always
• Working alongside your Head Chef, you will be able to demonstrate your creativity and ability by helping to design and deliver new dishes for our menus and daily specials
• Demonstrate great planning and organisational skills, necessary to maintain effective controls regarding both GP and labour
• Have a proactive approach to driving sales and delivering growth, through engagement with both kitchen and front-of-house teams
