Job summary

ECS Resource Group Ltd is seeking an experienced Solutions Architect for its Managed Network Services team in Solihull. The role focuses on designing LAN/WAN and Wi‑Fi solutions, supporting customers through the sales lifecycle, and delivering robust, secure network architectures.

You will work hybrid, engaging with Sales, Account Management and Service Delivery to convert opportunities into delivered solutions, with a clear path from engagement to delivery and documentation.

Qualifications

• Experienced Solutions Architect with a background in managed WAN, LAN, Wi‑Fi and security services.
• Leads technical discussions and customer meetings from engagement to delivery.
• Produces high-quality SOWs, HLDs, and network schematics.
• Maintains accurate opportunity data in CRM and supports pre‑sales activities.
• Requires Full UK driving licence and ability to pass BPSS and security checks.

Responsibilities

• Design tailored LAN and WAN solutions aligned to customer requirements and technical capabilities.
• Collaborate with Sales and Account Management to develop compelling technical propositions.
• Lead technical discussions, customer meetings and solution reviews, translating complex concepts into business outcomes.
• Produce high-quality technical documentation including SOWs, HLDs, and network schematics.
• Support new business opportunities, renewals and existing relationships with Service Delivery and sales teams.
• Ensure solutions are robust, commercially viable and deliver long-term value.
• Maintain opportunity records in CRM and contribute to the sales pipeline.
• Demonstrate strong enterprise Wi‑Fi knowledge (CAPWAP, WPA, 802.1X, mesh, controllers).
• Communicate clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Balance technical excellence with customer and business requirements.

Solutions Architect - Managed Network Services

Location: Solihull (Hybrid)

Salary: £65,000 - £80,000 + Commission + Car Allowance

Working Pattern: Hybrid - approximately 2 days per month in the Solihull office

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Solutions Architect to join a growing technical team, playing a key role in designing innovative network infrastructure solutions and supporting customers throughout the sales lifecycle.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong, customer-focused architect with a background in managed WAN, LAN, Wi‑Fi and security services. You will work closely with Sales and Account Management teams, acting as the technical authority from initial customer engagement through to solution delivery.

What You'll Be Doing

• Design tailored LAN and WAN solutions aligned to customer requirements and technical capabilities.
• Work closely with Sales and Account Management teams to understand customer needs and develop compelling technical propositions.
• Lead technical discussions, customer meetings and solution reviews, translating complex technical concepts into clear business outcomes.
• Produce high-quality technical documentation, including Statements of Work (SOWs), High-Level Designs (HLDs), network schematics and associated solution documentation.
• Collaborate with Service Delivery, Sales and Account Management teams to support new business opportunities, renewals and existing customer relationships.
• Ensure solutions are technically robust, commercially viable and deliver long-term customer value.
• Maintain accurate activity and opportunity information within CRM systems.
• Contribute to the development of a significant sales pipeline and support the wider pre‑sales function.
• Good understanding of enterprise Wi‑Fi technologies, including CAPWAP, WPA, 802.1X, mesh networking and wireless controllers.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Commercial awareness and an understanding of how to balance technical excellence with customer and business requirements.
• Full UK driving licence and the ability to pass BPSS and relevant security clearance checks.
