Job summary

Focus Group is seeking a Solutions Engineer (networking) to design, deploy, troubleshoot and lead the delivery of enterprise networking solutions (SD-WAN, LAN/WAN, firewalls, wireless, SASE). You will act as a technical expert, manage network projects, produce documentation and support both customers and engineers.

This role is home & customer site based, with 3–4 days on the road visiting sites from small businesses to enterprise locations. A valid UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in IT support and delivery, ideally within an MSP setting.
• Specialist networking knowledge: VLANs, routing and switching, firewalls, WAN/SD-WAN, wireless design and deployment.
• Leadership experience to lead projects and mentor colleagues.
• UK driving licence (full, valid).

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy and troubleshoot enterprise networking solutions.
• Lead delivery of networking projects and produce technical documentation.
• Support customers and engineers across engagements.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive best practices.
• Travel to customer sites 3–4 days per week.

At Focus Group, we're looking for a Solutions Engineer (networking) who will be responsible for designing, deploying, troubleshooting, and leading the delivery of enterprise networking solutions (including SD-WAN, LAN/WAN, firewalls, wireless and SASE), while acting as a technical expert, managing network-focused projects, producing technical documentation, and supporting both customers and engineers.

This is a home & customer site based role with real variety: you'll be out visiting customers 3-4 days a week, from small businesses through to enterprise sites, so you'll need to enjoy being on the road and with customers as much as behind a screen.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Proven experience in an IT support and delivery role - ideally within an MSP setting
• Specialist knowledge in- Networking: VLANs, routing and switching, firewalls, WAN/SD-WAN, and wireless design and deployment (Meraki, Cisco, Fortinet)
• The confidence to lead projects and mentor colleagues
• A full, valid UK driving licence
