Our growing Digital Services team delivers data-driven applications and infrastructure to improve our current business, whilst also creating new opportunities for our customers in the UK and around the world. The Digital team is part of the Customer Support and Service Solutions (CS3) line of business, which provides innovative support solutions to our customers.

We are seeking a passionate Solution Architect to provide the vision for solution architecture across various opportunities. This involves working within a Campaign/Capture team, collaborating with Business Analysts to understand customer requirements, and defining successful solutions using strong systems thinking skills. You will work closely with product owners and developers to understand current capabilities and contribute to designing costed work packages. Additionally, you will support planning, scheduling, and costing activities, and manage stakeholder relationships both internally and externally, effectively communicating the team's capabilities.

Our team is based across the UK, with flexible hybrid working options at main sites in Luton and Edinburgh. Regular UK travel, and occasional international travel, will be required to support co-located working.

1. Develop architectures and design specifications to expand, define, manage, and deliver solutions.
2. Ensure solutions align with the team's strategy, capabilities, and technology roadmap.
3. Contribute to technical Systems Engineering and Project Management activities related to planning and costing.
4. Act as a key contact for stakeholders to build confidence and credibility.
5. Identify opportunities to diversify our capabilities and assist in technical responses for new bids.
6. Promote Agile practices, coaching teams in refinement and best practices.

We’d like to hear from you if you have:

• A Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Proven experience as a Solution Architect, especially in digital solutions.
• Strong knowledge of digital technologies, including cloud computing, microservices, and API design.
• Proficiency in integrating third-party tools and platforms.
• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and project management.
• Understanding of security and regulatory compliance in digital solutions.
• Strategic thinking and innovative problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.
• Experience working with Business Analytics and Analysts.

Additional useful skills include:

• Certifications in relevant technologies (Azure, AWS, etc.).
• Experience in the Defence Industry, MOD logistics, or engineering systems like MJDI, James, and Gold.
• Knowledge of architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, MODAF, Archimate.
• Ability to organize teams to prioritize and deliver value.
• Knowledge of data analytics and machine learning approaches.
