Lead Solution Architect - Cloud-Based Systems

Location and Salary

• Location: Remote (occasional travel to South East England)
• Salary: Up to £100,000 + Performance Bonuses
• Clearance: Must have or be eligible for UK Security Clearance

Role Overview

A leading UK-based organization seeks a Lead Solution Architect to lead the design and delivery of complex, cloud-native platforms. Ideal candidates have at least 8 years' experience in architecting large-scale distributed systems, especially on AWS.

Key Responsibilities

• Design secure, scalable infrastructures using AWS, Kubernetes, Kafka, and Java microservices
• Shape technical strategy and lead architecture design
• Mentor teams across cloud transformation projects
• Ensure architectural standards meet business and compliance requirements
• Optimize performance and manage cloud costs
• Implement cloud security best practices, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and event-driven design

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

• AWS certifications
• Experience with Azure, GCP, serverless technologies, and compliance (GDPR, HIPAA)
• Knowledge of zero-trust security models
• Active UK Security Clearance or eligibility
