Job summary

MBDA UK is seeking a capable Software Engineering Technical Team Lead to head a mid-sized development team working on our missile-system middleware. The role combines leadership of 8 engineers with hands-on software engineering across Linux-based systems and C/C++/Ada/JavaScript.

The position offers a hybrid working pattern with 3–4 days in the office, a salary circa £55,000 to £67,000, and a benefits package including a company bonus, pension, flexible leave, and enhanced parental leave.

Qualifications

• Experience with C or C++ is essential.
• Ability to lead a software development team and coordinate Agile sprints.

Responsibilities

• Manage Agile sprints, ceremonies and backlog prioritisation, ensuring timely software delivery.
• Coordinate team members, assign tasks, and monitor deadlines.
• Promote software development best practices and QA processes.
• Support Linux OS configuration and security maintenance for multiple projects.
