Job summary

MBDA is seeking a capable Software Engineering Technical Lead to steer a small team and maintain missile-system middleware. The role emphasizes debugging, Linux-based configuration, and cross-application collaboration across land and maritime projects.

You will lead a five-person team, contribute to design and problem-solving, and interface with our Software Project Leader to align programs. Hybrid work typically 4 days on-site; salary circa £55,000–£67,000 depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Experience with C/C++ and a solid software engineering background.
• Willingness to develop software skillsets on the job or through formal training.
• Leadership experience and ability to guide engineers to deliver projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small support team (five) to develop and maintain middleware solutions.
• Debug and investigate complex software issues and discuss solutions with customers.
• Collaborate across multiple applications on land and maritime projects in the systems software department.
