CPS Group (UK) Limited in Cardiff is recruiting an experienced Software Engineering Team Lead to guide multiple engineering squads, shape architecture and raise engineering standards while delivering high‑quality software on time.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with Product and senior stakeholders, and drive modern development practices, automation and AI tooling in a hybrid, Cardiff-based team.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Team Lead, Senior Engineer or Engineering Lead.
• Strong Java and Spring Boot development experience.
• Experience delivering software within Agile environments.
• Ability to influence technical decisions and mentor engineers.
• Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across software engineering teams.
• Guide software design, architecture and engineering best practice.
• Support delivery planning, prioritisation and risk management.
• Mentor engineers through feedback, coaching and development.
• Collaborate with Product and stakeholders to deliver business objectives.
• Drive improvements across engineering processes, quality and delivery.
• Support recruitment and help build high-performing teams.
• Encourage modern development practices, automation and AI tooling.
