Job summary

SYSTRA UK & Ireland is seeking a Principal Consultant (Software Development) to design, build, and maintain high-performance software systems. You will work closely with the Technical Lead and cross-functional teams to deliver reliable features, contributing to architecture decisions and engineering best practices.

You will mentor less experienced developers, optimise CI/CD pipelines with DevOps colleagues, and participate in agile ceremonies.

Qualifications

• Proficient in C++ with modern standards (C++14/17/20) and memory management.
• Strong C# experience in .NET Core / .NET 6+ and OOP patterns.
• Proficient Python for scripting, automation, and back-end services.
• Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, and design patterns (SOLID).
• Experience with unit testing frameworks (Google Test, NUnit, pytest) and profiling/debugging.
• Git-based workflows and code review processes.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Paramics Discovery using C++, C#, and Python across the full SDLC.
• Write clean, well-documented code with an emphasis on testability and performance.
• Contribute to architectural discussions and trade-off analyses.
