CPS Group (UK) Limited in Cardiff is recruiting an experienced Software Engineering Team Lead to guide multiple engineering squads, shape architecture and raise engineering standards while delivering high‑quality software on time.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with Product and senior stakeholders, and drive modern development practices, automation and AI tooling in a hybrid, Cardiff-based team.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Team Lead, Senior Engineer or Engineering Lead.
• Strong Java and Spring Boot development experience.
• Experience delivering software within Agile environments.
• Ability to influence technical decisions and mentor engineers.
• Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical teams.

Software Engineering Team Lead

Cardiff (Hybrid Working)

Up to £75,000 + Bonus

CPS Group are supporting an established technology-driven organisation in Cardiff who are looking for an Software Engineering Team Lead to join their growing software engineering function.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Software Engineer or Team Lead who enjoys technical leadership, mentoring engineers and shaping engineering practices. You'll play a key role in guiding Agile teams, influencing architecture and helping drive the technical direction of a modern software platform.

The Role

You'll provide technical leadership across multiple engineering teams, supporting delivery, improving engineering standards and helping engineers grow. You'll work closely with Product, Engineering and senior stakeholders to ensure high-quality solutions are delivered against estimates/to time, and to cost.

This is a predominantly hands-off role, however you'll be expected to et stuck into development when timelines are looking tight.
