Job summary

CPS Group (UK) Limited is recruiting an Engineering Manager for an established financial services client in Cardiff. This brand-new role is created to grow the Product Engineering team and shape the technology function.

The position is hybrid with three days onsite per week at the Cardiff office and a focus on leading engineering delivery, process improvement and stakeholder alignment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing and developing software engineering teams.
• Strong software engineering background with ability to understand code and challenge decisions.
• Experience with Java and large-scale web platforms is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop and manage a team of software engineers.
• Improve engineering processes, delivery performance and software quality.
• Support AI-assisted development tools and new ways of working.
• Collaborate with technical leads on strategy and platform modernization.
• Oversee project delivery, resource planning and team performance.
• Align technical priorities with business needs alongside product teams.
• Promote strong engineering standards, testing practices and reliable delivery.
