Job summary

CPS Group (UK) Ltd in Cardiff is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a software engineering team and drive delivery improvements within a financial services context.

You will mentor engineers, align technical priorities with business needs and collaborate with product teams and senior stakeholders on strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing and developing software engineering teams.
• Strong software engineering background; ability to read code and challenge decisions.
• Experience improving team performance, delivery and processes.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with Java, Oracle or large-scale web platforms would be beneficial.
• Exposure to AI-assisted development or financial services advantageous.

CPS Group are supporting an established financial services organisation who are growing their Product Engineering team and looking to recruit an Engineering Manager. This is a brand-new position created due to growth, offering the opportunity to lead an engineering team, improve delivery processes and help shape the future of the organisation's technology function.

The Role:

• Lead, develop and manage a team of software engineers.
• Improve engineering processes, delivery performance and software quality.
• Support the adoption of AI-assisted development tools and new ways of working.
• Work with technical leads on engineering strategy and platform modernisation.
• Oversee project delivery, resource planning and team performance.
• Work closely with product teams and senior stakeholders to align technical priorities with business needs.

Required Experience:
