Job summary

Northumberland County Council, County Hall, Morpeth, is seeking experienced Social Workers for the Adults, Ageing & Wellbeing Directorate. This permanent, full-time role focuses on assessment and support for adults 18+. You will work autonomously with supervision and collaborate with partners to deliver high-quality outcomes.

Ideal candidates have post-qualification experience or ASYE completion, UK driving licence, and a commitment to continuous development within a forward-thinking council.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Social Work and registered with Social Work England.
  • Successfully completed the UK Skills for Care ASYE programme.
  • Must hold a valid UK driving licence and be able to use a car for work purposes.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and manage your own caseload with regular supervision.
  • Work with Advanced Social Work Practitioners and your Team Manager to receive guidance.
  • Understand and apply the Care Act and the Local Authority’s statutory duties.

  • Permanent, full time 37 hours per week
About the role

Care and Support provide a holistic and integrated service for adults aged 18 and over. We support individuals with both physical and mental health needs, working closely with a wide range of partner agencies; including drug and alcohol services, mental health practitioners, health professionals, housing services, the police, and children’s social care, to ensure coordinated and effective support.

You’ll manage your own caseload while receiving regular supervision and consistent guidance from Advanced Social Work Practitioners and your Team Manager. For this position you must have the following:
  • Degree in Social Work & registered with Social Work England
