Responsibilities

• Actively promote effective assessment, care planning, intervention, and review for children in need of care and support, ensuring compliance with legislation and best practices.
• Support and promote a best practice culture within the directorate, raising expectations for high standards across the workforce.Develop user feedback processes to keep children, young people, and families at the heart of the directorate's activities, incorporating feedback into service developments.
• Monitor and manage the performance and development of social workers and support staff in partnership with team managers.
• Conduct thorough quality assurance audits, identifying good practices and areas for improvement, and recommend enhancements.
• Foster dissemination of good practices across the workforce in collaboration with team managers.
• Provide expert knowledge and leadership on social care matters, working with various stakeholders to resolve policy and practice issues.
• Develop and implement new policy initiatives and respond to service needs in collaboration with regional safeguarding boards and training providers.
• Deliver analysis and interpretation of audit information to various audiences, contributing to the Regional Safeguarding Board.
• Promote strengths-based frameworks and contribute to service planning and development.
• Represent Social Services in multi-agency forums and ensure effective partnership working.
• Conduct research to support practice development and engage actively in continuous improvement activities.
