You will lead quality assurance throughout the directorate, oversee audits, monitor staff performance, and collaborate with regional safeguarding boards and training providers. A proactive, collaborative approach is essential for success.

Responsibilities

• Promote effective assessment, care planning, intervention, and review for children in need of care and support, ensuring compliance with legislation.
• Support and promote a best practice culture within the directorate, raising expectations for high standards.
• Develop user feedback processes to keep children, young people, and families at the heart of the directorate’s activities.
• Monitor and manage the performance and development of social workers and support staff.
• Conduct thorough quality assurance audits, identifying good practices and areas for improvement.
• Foster dissemination of good practices across the workforce in collaboration with team managers.
• Provide expert knowledge and leadership on social care matters, working with stakeholders to resolve policy and practice issues.
• Develop and implement new policy initiatives and respond to service needs in collaboration with regional safeguarding boards and training providers.
• Deliver analysis and interpretation of audit information to various audiences, contributing to the Regional Safeguarding Board.
• Promote strengths-based frameworks and contribute to service planning and development.
• Represent Social Services in multi-agency forums and ensure effective partnership working.
• Conduct research to support practice development and engage actively in continuous improvement activities.
