Job summary

Veolia Group is seeking an experienced professional to manage social value commitments for a local area, delivering strategic plans and coordinating cross-department projects. The role emphasizes partnership work with agencies, content production, and effective communications within the ECO team.

The successful candidate will drive educational outreach, engage with external partners, and ensure health and safety compliance while supporting regional and national objectives across the contract.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in project management and delivering strategic plans.
  • Experience working with agencies and external organisations on partnership projects.
  • Experience delivering community engagement activities and content production across formats.
  • Excellent written and communication skills including presentations.
  • Customer management experience.
  • Budget management experience.
  • Full clean UK driving licence.
  • Understanding of PR, social media and digital communications.
  • Experience with local authorities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage social value commitments for a local area and deliver strategic plans.
  • Provide general communications support for the ECO team and liaise with Client Officers and Contract Managers.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety policies.
  • Support ECO contract managers in daily communications.
  • Deliver regional and national communications objectives within contract.
  • Coordinate cross-department teams to deliver project work.
  • Oversee agency teams and third-party providers as needed.
  • Recruit into the operational team by building partnerships and delivering webinars/workshops.
  • Deliver ECO activities with focus on education.
  • Identify contract good news stories and share with regional Digital/PR teams.
  • Maintain network across UK ECO team and drive innovation.
  • Keep up with industry developments.

Job description

Salary - £32,000-£38,000 dependent on experience plus Veolia benefits.

Location - Hammersmith and Fulham

Hours - 40 hours per week, standard hours are 08:30-17:00, Monday to Friday

What you’ll be doing
  • Effectively work towards and manage the social value commitments for a local area and ensure strategic plans are delivered to meet objectives.
  • To provide general communications support for the ECO team and contract as required and be in day to day contact with Client Officers and Contract Managers.
  • Compliance with all Health and Safety policies and procedures
  • Support the Contract ECO manager to provide day to day communication support for the contract as required
  • Support the Contract ECO Manager and Area ECO Manager to deliver regional and national communications objectives within contract, as required
  • Hire and oversee performance of agency teams / third party service providers as directed by project needs
  • Coordinate cross departmental teams to deliver project work
  • Manage and report on the social value function of the contract and lead on the design and delivery of specific projects to achieve contractual commitments
  • Support recruitment into the operational team by fostering relationships with external partners, delivering webinars and workshops to offer career advice
  • Deliver Education, Communication and Outreach (ECO) activities planned for the contract to meet with social value objectives, with a strong focus on education
  • Identify contract good news stories and feed to the regional Digital and PR team
  • Maintain a network across the UK ECO team to identify opportunities for innovation and process improvement and lead on the implementation in their region where relevant
  • Keep abreast of industry developments
