Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. is recruiting a Secondary Social Sciences Teacher to join our supply team in Lincoln. You will plan and deliver engaging lessons across KS3 and KS4 in Sociology, Psychology, Citizenship and related subjects, building students' analytical and evaluative skills.

The role offers opportunities for daily supply or longer placements, with a focus on flexible scheduling and diverse school settings. You will be supported by a dedicated consultant and access to CPD resources.

Qualifications

  • Hold QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Eligible to work in the UK and able to obtain a DBS.
  • Experience teaching Social Sciences at secondary level (KS3/KS4) is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging Social Sciences lessons.
  • Deliver KS3 and KS4 topics including Sociology, Psychology, Citizenship.
  • Develop students' analytical and critical thinking.
  • Assess pupil progress and provide feedback.
  • Prepare students for GCSE and other assessments.
  • Adapt to different school environments.

As a Secondary Social Sciences Teacher on supply, you will:

Be responsible for planning and delivering engaging and inclusive Social Sciences lessonsHave a strong understanding of the relevant Social Sciences curriculumDeliver a range of topics and concepts across KS3 and KS4, including Sociology, Psychology, Citizenship and related subjectsDevelop students' understanding of society, human behaviour, social structures and contemporary issuesEncourage students to develop their analytical, critical thinking and evaluative skillsSupport students in understanding different perspectives, theories and viewpointsEncourage students to engage with current affairs and apply their knowledge to real-world situationsDevelop students' ability to interpret, analyse and evaluate evidence and researchUse a range of teaching strategies to support pupils with diverse learning needs and abilitiesEncourage students to participate in discussions and develop their communication and argumentation skillsAssess and monitor pupil progress, providing appropriate feedback and supportPrepare students effectively for GCSE examinations and other relevant assessmentsAbility to adapt to different teaching environments and school settings
