Job summary

Mears Group PLC is seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team in Crawley, performing reactive and planned maintenance across social housing properties. The role focuses on delivering high-quality carpentry work with excellent customer service in both occupied and void properties.

We require proven carpentry experience, a full UK driving licence, and the ability to work independently. The position is full-time, 8am–5pm, Monday–Friday, in Crawley, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Proven carpentry experience carrying out domestic maintenance and repair works.
• Experience completing first and second fix carpentry.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Experience within social housing.
• A carpentry or other trades qualification is desirable.
• Knowledge of damp and mould related repairs and associated legislation is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out reactive carpentry repairs in occupied properties
• Undertaking first and second fix carpentry works
• Hanging doors
• Installing and repairing skirting and architraves
• Repairing and maintaining windows and doors
• Completing lock changes and repairs
• Repairing worktops and kitchen units
• Working across occupied and void properties
• Delivering excellent customer service
• Completing both reactive and planned maintenance works
