Job summary

Mears Group plc is seeking a Carpenter to perform day-to-day repairs and maintenance across social housing properties in the Crawley area. You will handle reactive carpentry tasks, first and second fix works, hanging doors, and repairing fixtures while delivering excellent customer service.

The role requires independent work, driving licence, and experience in social housing. It offers a full-time schedule, with early start times from 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, in Crawley, with competitive

Qualifications

• Proven carpentry experience in domestic maintenance and repairs.
• Experience with first and second fix carpentry.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Experience within social housing.
• Carpentry qualification desirable.
• Knowledge of damp and mould repairs/legislation desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carry out reactive carpentry repairs in occupied properties.
• Undertake first and second fix carpentry works.
• Hang doors; install/repair skirting and architraves.
• Repair windows/doors; complete lock changes.
• Work across occupied and void properties; deliver customer service.
• Complete reactive and planned maintenance tasks.
