Job summary

Novus Property Solutions is seeking a Skilled Labourer to join a busy social housing repairs team. You’ll perform general site maintenance, basic joinery, plumbing, plastering and painting across tenanted properties, while upholding safety and quality on every job.

Based in Salisbury area with a Monday–Friday pattern, you’ll work with a supportive planning team and benefit from a pension, training, a fleet van, and a scheme to refer friends. DBS check and full UK driving licence required.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 Trade Qualification (Carpentry, Plumbing or equivalent) required.
• Working at Height, Asbestos Awareness and Manual Handling training; refresher training available.
• Experience in labouring or multi trades (carpentry, plumbing) in social housing refurbishment.
• Full UK Driving Licence; DBS check required.
• Level 2 Award in Property Maintenance; PASMA/IPAF/Abrasive Wheels advantageous.

Responsibilities

• General maintenance around tenanted properties and supporting trades.
• Basic joinery including repairs or replacements of doors, windows, kitchens and bathrooms.
• Basic plumbing including repairing or replacing taps, basins, baths, shower trays/heads, sanitary ware.
• Basic patch plastering work.
• Painting and decorating; keep site clean and orderly.
• Follow health and safety procedures and use PDA for job tickets.
• Deliver a high standard of service in customers' homes.
• Manage systems to stay up to date and accurate.

Location: Onsite covering Salisbury/Warminster and approx 60-90 minute radius - typically working Monday to Friday 39 hours

As a Skilled Labourer for Novus Property Solutions, you’ll work with a great team, who support each other and work together to deliver a great service for our customers. Possessing a background as a handyperson/skilled labourer with basic trade skills on Site, familiar with working internally and externally, at height and ideally working within Social Housing tenanted properties, although further training, including in Health and Safety will be given.

An Outline Of Your Responsibilities And Experience

• General maintenance around site(tenanted properties), supporting all trades across various internal responsive repair works
• Basic joinery including, repairs or replacements of doors, windows, kitchens and bathrooms
• Basic plumbing including repairing or replacing taps, basins, baths, shower trays/heads, sanitary ware
• Basic patch plastering experience
• Painting and Decorating experience desirable not essential
• Ensure all site is kept clean and in order, including removing refuge from site
• Using a PDA and working from job tickets
• Follow and enforce company health and safety procedures
• Always delivering an outstanding service to customers with the understanding that you are working in their homes
• Manage Systems so they are up to date and accurate
• NVQ Level 2 Trade Qualification (Carpentry, Plumbing or equivalent)
• Candidates will also require Working at Height, Asbestos Awareness and Manual Handling training. Where these certifications have expired, refresher training can be provided by Novus.
• Experience in labouring or multi trades such a carpentry, plumbing within social housing refurbishment environment.
• Knowledge and Qualifications in;
• Level 2 Award in Property Maintenance
• PASMA, IPAF and Abrasive Wheels are all advantageous
• This role will require a Full UK Driving Licence
• The role will require a DBS check to be taken
