Job summary

Novus Property Solutions is seeking a Joiner to join the Planned Works and Responsive Repairs division. The role focuses on repairs and replacements in social housing tenanted properties, with a site-based setup covering Workington, Whitehaven and surrounding areas.

You will work standard Monday–Friday hours (39 per week) with DBS checks and training provided. A UK driving license is essential, and NVQ Level 2/3 Joinery (or equivalent) is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in joinery and multi-trade maintenance in social housing.
• Full UK driving license is required.
• NVQ Level 2/3 Joinery or equivalent qualifications desirable.

Responsibilities

• Replace and repair UPVC doors and windows; kitchen, bathrooms, and general maintenance.
• Carry out basic plumbing and sanitaryware replacement.
• Paint and decorate as required in tenanted properties.
• Work from job tickets or handheld devices on a live system.
• Ensure health and safety standards are followed.

Location:Site based, covering Workington, Whitehaven, Egremont, Maryport, Wigton and surrounding areas

Standard Hours Monday- Friday 39 hours plus out of hours on call.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Joiner to join Novus Property Solutions, Planned works and Responsive Repairs division, providing high-quality repairs and replacement services within Social Housing tenanted properties

An outline of your responsibilities and experience

• Applications are welcome from experienced candidates that have a Joinery background, prepared to take on multi trade duties. The works include the replacement and occasional repairs of various upvc doors, windows, kitchen, bathrooms and general maintenance to ensure functionality.


• Basic Plumbing, replacement of sanitaryware, toilets, baths, shower trays, basins, taps with occasional repairs


• Painting and decorating as and when required


• Social Housing experience is essential as you will be working in tenanted properties


• Working from job tickets or a handheld device on a daily basis linked to a live shared system.


• Trusted to manage your own day and workload effectively


• Always delivering an outstanding service to customers with the understanding that you are working in their homes


• Following Novus’ exemplary Health and Safety policies and standards


• NVQ Level 2/3 Joinery or NVQ Level 2 in Property Maintenance. Plumbing, tiling, plastering skills, PASMA, IPAF knowledge or qualifications are advantageous


• Candidates will also require Working at Height, Asbestos Awareness and Manual Handling training. Where these certifications have expired, refresher training can be provided by Novus.


• Full UK driving license is required.


• The role will also require a DBS check to be completed
