Job Title: Site Services Engineer
Location: Cambridgeshire
Our client is a long-established manufacturer of bespoke timber and aluminium-clad timber windows and doors, with offices across the UK. The business combines traditional craftsmanship with modern performance standards, providing high-quality products for domestic and commercial applications. It has an established reputation for quality, durability and customer service.
Working as a one-man team, the main purpose of this role is to deliver where possible, a first time fix solution in order to manage the customers’ expectations, whilst reducing ongoing costs to the business.
This role involves direct contact with the customer.
Accountabilities/Typical Duties:
- Identify issues and formulate resolutions (specifically root cause and first time fixes).
- Resolve any quality or warranty issues with items supplied either to the end user or an installer.
- Clearly explain the cause of the problem and the remedial actions to the customer.
- Ensure regular progress updates and accurate information is provided to the After Sales Manager, liaising as necessary with other Company team members to ensure that relevant product information is shared.
- Promote the Company through a smart, polite and courteous approach.
- Continuously strive to add value to the overall customer experience, seeking to achieve the highest levels of customer satisfaction at all times.
- Adhere to and promote all company policies and procedures, including those relating to HR, Finance and health and safety.
- Carry out regular vehicle checks to ensure Company vehicles remain legal, maintained and clean
- Undertake such duties as may be required commensurate with the level of responsibility and nature of the job, in discussion with your Line Manager.
- Ensure the maintenance of confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Certain amount of administration work will be required in maintaining your own expenses and updating of warranty reports.
- Continually strive to improve and develop business performance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualification, Knowledge, and Experience:
- Excellent product knowledge required.
- Clean driving licence
- Previous fenestration experience is desirable.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience of a similar role desirable but not essential.
Skills and Aptitude:
- Painting skill preferable for carrying out minor repairs.
- Ability to time manage own and other work.
- Work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills with the focus on delivering the highest standards of customer satisfaction.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision to complete tasks.
- A good team player capable of delivering excellent results under pressure and to strict deadlines.
- A positive ‘can do’ enthusiastic attitude towards addressing the technical challenges facing our client and our clients.
- Ability to undertake repetitive tasks with patience and care.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Special Requirements:
- Flexibility to work beyond “normal hours” to satisfy the customer.
- Flexibility required to stay away overnight is an absolute must, this could be as much as a week at a time.
- Area to be covered is Southern England.
- Physically capable of carrying out a demanding hands-on role.
