Job summary

CO Home Improvements is seeking an experienced Service Engineer to install, repair and service conservatories, warm roofs, windows and doors in Kendal and the surrounding Cumbria area. The role requires hands-on joinery ability, high workmanship standards and excellent customer service while working on customer properties.

You will work independently, manage your workload, and ensure safety and quality on every job.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with warm roofs, conservatories, windows and doors.
• Joinery experience including skirting boards and laminate flooring.
• Ability to fit, repair and replace hardware and fittings (handles, hinges, glazing, letterboxes).
• Excellent product knowledge with strong problem‑solving skills.
• High workmanship standards with attention to detail.
• Professional, customer-focused communication.

Responsibilities

• Identify and resolve manufacturing or fitting issues with windows, doors, conservatories and warm roofs.
• Carry out minor joinery tasks including skirting boards and laminate flooring.
• Repair, replace and adjust hardware and fittings as needed.
• Provide excellent customer service at customers' properties.
• Ensure all work is safe, efficient and high standard.
• Collaborate with Customer Services to resolve installation issues.
• Take pride in workmanship to ensure customer satisfaction.

About The Role

We are looking for an experienced and skilled Service Engineer to join our team in Kendal.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include

• Identifying and resolving manufacturing or fitting issues with windows, doors, bi-fold doors, warm roofs and conservatory roofs.
• Carrying out minor joinery work, including fitting skirting boards and laminate flooring.
• Repairing, replacing and adjusting hardware and fittings as required.
• Providing excellent customer service whilst working at customers' properties.
• Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a consistently high standard.
• Working closely with the Customer Services team to help resolve installation and product-related issues.
• Taking pride in your workmanship and ensuring customers are satisfied with the completed work.

What We Are Looking For

• Previous hands‑on experience working with warm roofs, conservatories, windows and doors.
• Experience in carrying out repairs, adjustments and remedial work on home improvement installations.
• Previous joinery experience, including fitting skirting boards and laminate flooring.
• The ability to fit, repair and replace a range of hardware and fittings, including handles, hinges, glazing and letterboxes.
• Excellent product knowledge and strong practical problem‑solving skills.
• A high standard of workmanship with excellent attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and a professional, customer-focused approach.
• The ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively.
• A full UK driving licence is essential.
