Job summary

Camel Glass is seeking a Lead Window and Door Installer to join our team. You will lead a small team on complex fenestration installations, coordinate site surveys, measure for orders, and ensure a high finish on PVCu, aluminium, and timber frames in homes, on sites, and in commercial settings.

The role requires extensive hands-on installation experience, ability to train apprentices, knowledge of building regulations and health and safety on site, and a customer-focused approach to deliver

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead a team on standard and complex fenestration installations from start to finish, coordinating planning and customer contact.
• Fault-find and repair a wide range of fenestration products with high-quality finish.
• Apply extensive making-good skills (cement fillets, rendering, skimming) to reveals.

Job Description:

JOB TITLE: Lead Window and Door Installer

RESPONSIBLE TO: Branch Manager

HOURS: Branch Manager

SUMMARY OF THE ROLE:

Installing a range of fenestration products offered by the company on either a first fix, rip and fix or full replacement basis. Mainly installing windows and doors in both PVCu, aluminium and occasionally timber, occasionally fitting conservatories, rooves and other fenestration related products. Principally leading a small team and at times leading a team working on larger projects. Working in customer’s homes, on grand designs, construction sites and in commercial buildings you will be involved in a wide range of installation types. This roll is for the most senior Fitters, with extensive experience and skill sets that enable excellence in every facet of fenestration installation. You will be prioritised to lead on the most complex installations, as well as supporting other Fitters in their roles.

• Lead a team (or teams) on all standard and complex installations for all fenestration products from start to finish, responsible for planning, organising and supervising jobs to achieve a high standard of finish, being the main point of contact with the customer.
• Detailed knowledge of a wide variety of products, able to fault find and action repair to all common fenestration products.
• Extensive making good skill set, able to carry out to a high standard, cement fillets, rendering or skimming to reveals.

when needed, able to communicate clear understanding to the customer.

• Have a good working knowledge of building regulations relevant to fenestration as well as health and safety on site.
• Carry out basic site surveys, able to measure accurately for product ordering, understand and plan installations giving thought to access, lifting, health and safety and any specific site requirements.
• Able and willing to train others such as Assistants and Apprentices.
