Currys Plc is hiring a Site Reliability Engineer for our Waterloo hybrid hub. This permanent, full-time role focuses on end-to-end availability, performance and resilience of customer-facing and core trading services.

You will embed with product teams, define SLIs/SLOs, automate toil, and drive reliability from design to operation. You will build Currys’ central AIOps platform, ingest telemetry, apply ML-assisted anomaly detection, automate runbooks, and integrate with ITSM and on-call tooling.

Competenze

• Strong software engineering background with production-grade code experience.
• Hands-on with cloud platforms (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP valued).
• Deep observability and monitoring expertise, including SLIs/SLOs and alerting strategies.

Mansioni

• Define and report on SLIs/SLOs and error budgets with product squads.
• Design, build and operate Currys’ central AIOps platform for telemetry ingestion and anomaly detection.
• Evolve a modern observability stack using OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana and related tools.
• Eliminate operational toil via IaC, self-service tooling and CI/CD improvements.
• Lead incident response, blameless post-incident reviews and root cause analysis.
• Review architecture for reliability, scalability and operability; reduce debt.
• Lead capacity planning for peak trading events using telemetry-based predictions.
• Coach teams in SRE practices and participate in a 24x7 on-call rota.
